IT'S CHRISTMAS!

Good day everyone all around the world, it’s so great to be writing to you again. I trust God that you are doing well and I pray that God’s wonder working power presides over your situations today as you focus on Jesus and put your trust in Him.

Calvary greetings to you All…looool!

Guess what? It’s Christmas time! Yaaay!

Well, it is way past guessing, Christmas is already here and I can literally smell it in the air here in Abuja. There are a few things on my mind I would like to share about this season and how we respond to this time of the year and I’d like you to indulge me, read, and be blessed.

Christmas is such an amazing time of gifts, family time, food, holiday and so on, it is such an amazing time; it’s a few days off work, to attend parties with lots of drinks and all, as we are generally in ‘party’ mood. Christmas is basically a fun time at the end of the year perfect for ‘chilling’…all these are not bad things to do or participate in but Christmas means a whole lot more.
  • It’s a time to share…great! What exactly are you sharing, what is the purpose for your sharing? To get more contracts from that company by sending a hamper of goodies over or trying to get a favor from one of the senior partners at the firm by sending him an overpriced gift?
  • It’s family time, the holidays…yippee! During the fun time with family, is there also time with the family to remind them about the goodness Jesus? Or is your family involved with sharing the good news and goodness of Jesus with others who have not experienced it?
  • Food and parties are in essence part of celebrations and I particularly like this part as it helps us to bond and show love, but what we can do is to invite people outside our circles to come and experience the Love that so graciously flows from our hearts to each other. I don’t think there is a person that doesn’t respond to true love.
  • Let Christmas be a time of prayer, prayer for all nations; for people to come to the knowledge of Christ and to the saving power of Jesus. You know how Jesus entered your life and changed you and gave you peace, so pray for others to experience HIM and to be loved by HIM.
Just like the wise men saw the star of Jesus and came to him in the manger, we need to become that beacon, that light, that sign that will draw all men from all nations to meet with Jesus. The star was bright (I dare say it was a source of light and inspiration, without a shadow in its wake), it stayed (it was consistent as a source of direction to the wise men, it did not waver or change form for them to be confused about its authenticity), it was sure (it knew where it was going and did just that…it led them to Jesus).

We need to be like this light, be true to the Gospel of peace by telling others about Jesus and what he came and did for the whole world, don’t waver in your belief…people are watching since you said you are a Christian. I don’t mean you should put up an act or a show for people to believe your faith but trust God to help you with your walk with Him and always follow your heart. That light was consistent and knew where it was going; bringing all in its wake to the Baby Jesus…we need to do just that. Let everything about you bring people to the saving knowledge of Jesus. He is what this season is about and we would show HIM to the whole world!

Some people are carried away by the beauty of Christmas trees, décor, stocking fillers and so on, some children think that Christmas is about Santa Claus and all that…NO! We need to teach our Children about Jesus and tell our friends and people around us the TRUE meaning of Christmas, the season of the Birth of Christ; the Saviour of the whole world!

If you are reading this and you have not yet received Jesus Christ then you need to know that John 3:16 is not a cliché…‘For God so loved the world that He GAVE his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth on him shall not perish but have everlasting life.’ God truly loved the world and gave up his son to die a painful and humiliating death so that by his death the sins of humanity is pardoned so that all of us as can come to God and be perfect, blameless and live our lives in peace knowing that the almighty God loves us and we are in right standing with God!

You can repeat this prayer out loud: "Father in heaven, I come before you today, I believe that Jesus Christ paid the price for my sins, sickness and poverty in his death, burial and resurrection. I confess that He is my Lord and Savior and I renounce my old ways. Lord make me new according to your word in 2 Corinthians 5:17-23. I believe that today I have received salvation according t Romans 10:9-11. I thank you Lord for making me your own. I dedicate my whole life to you, to serve you now and forever.

Jesus you are my Lord!

Today you have made the best decision for your life, having prayed that prayer from your heart; you are now a member of God's household. You can email us on iamachurchgirl@gmail.com and we will be delighted to help you in your relationship with God.

Welcome to the family!

Thanks everyone for reading and sharing and commenting on the blog, we truly appreciate you and we at churchgirlzrock.blogspot.com wish you a very merry Christmas.

CHANCE OR NOT

Ludo is quite an interesting game for me. I like it because I can think through and be strategic about my moves before making them and I can quickly recover from an opponent’s hard hit and make a comeback. Some say it’s a game of chance that can only be decided by a throw of the dice but then again, life hands us things sometimes that we must make the best out of. So this is my story… I was playing ludo with someone recently and the winner would be decided after five rounds of the game, so I cracked my knuckles, rolled up my sleeves, mentally psyched myself and thought “easy peasy, she can’t even stand my skills; I GAT THIS!!” So we started to play and yours truly was waving her bragging rights high in the sky like a banner for an upcoming election. The game was going in my favour… omo* I was on fire! Move after move, I frustrated all her efforts with my well thought out moves, my skills and years of experience playing the game. The score was now 4:1 and I was on my

PERFECT IMPERFECTIONS

There they are, sitting bright and sunny perched delicately, waiting to be unwrapped to reveal the creamy yummy goodness that is so sweet and decadent, smoothe and cool to the touch. Yes; ripe and ready to eat bananas are fancy like that. Lol, perfect! right?! But what would you say about overripe bananas? Sitting at the back of the kitchen counter top or even closed away at the back of a kitchen cupboard; forgotten or on purpose left to grow and mature. It starts getting brighter but after a while dark brown spots and black patches begin to appear on them as they stay longer. They look off and unappealing, dark and unattractive but guess what they are still very PERFECT, discoloration and even time makes them perfect for the yummiest banana bread loafs and cakes like those from @sweetstuffkitchen. Okay okay, enough musings about bananas... FAM, don't wait to be perfect! your IMPERFECTIONS are what makes you unique, different and I dare say, PERFECT. Do not deprive humanity of your
