SLUMBER PARTY 2

Hi everyone, hope you are having a good day. this is Wednesday and some would like to say they have sooo much work to do or some would say they are approaching the weekend. I would like to say it's time to indulge you in my weekly banter...yipee!

This was 2011...at my wedding!
So I hosted the lovely children (between the ages of 5 & 15) from the children's church of Savannah Grace Chapel Abuja @savannahmins to a slumber party and wow did I have loads of fun! The theme for the slumber party was "PLAY AND PRAY" I honestly didn't think I'll be able to have as much fun as I did but the children were simply amazing and I learnt a lot from them.

They arrived at my place - even though it is 'the end of the world' for some, my home was a haven and place of 'chilling' for the kids - they had lunch, watched television for a while waiting for every other child to arrive and went straight ahead to the first phase of their fun time with Pastor Otto @ottovonpablo
After a couple of games, shouting and singing along to the chorus of @waleice 'Gbemisoke' (as they did not quite know the lyrics to the rap...lol) it was time to pray; at first I thought that only the older kids will participate but I was informed by the teachers that they all will so I waited and watched. The prayer was led by Mrs Ifejola Opara and she asked them a very interesting question "How many of you pray in tongues?" and I was shocked in an amazing to see that out of 26 children, 18 were filled with the Holy Ghost and pray in the Holy Ghost...WOW!! Ife called the other 8 children out and laid hands on them to receive the Holy Ghost and guess what...they did receive! They immediately began to speak in other tongues right there in my living room.

They prayed in tongues for over an hour...yes, over an hour!

Other activities went on afterwards: some rest/free time, outdoor games, arts and crafts, dinner, movie/cartoon time and more and then it was time to rest for the night as church service was for 7am on the 6th of March and as usual. We all agreed not to be late to church so they TRIED to sleep early...to say the least, some of the kids were still up at 11pm. WHEW but guess what, they were up, dressed and ready to go to church by 6am...this was so amazing to me. Their strength, determination to be in church and most of all without complaints.

MY LESSONs

  1. My home is a haven and a place of joy.
  2. Be yourself and enjoy every opportunity that is presented to you. Even in the 'toughest" of times decide to have fun. The heat was a hindrance but they were not deterred by it.
  3. When you seem not to know what life is bringing your way; wait on God! Just like the children waited for the rap part of ICE's song to pass, then they'll sing the chorus at the top of their voices. Wait on God like that, He'll bring the chorus of life to you sooner than you think and you'll know what to do.
  4. Kids are spirit, they have a soul and they live in a body...just like adults! Do not say they are too young to learn the things of God; just start to teach from day one and you'll be shocked how they'll soak it all up. They learn very fast and stay believing because of their innocent faith without doubt.
  5. Spend time praying in the Holy Ghost; if children did it fervently for over an hour and they were not tired afterwards...why cant I? why cant YOU?
  6. Determine what you want to do as led by the Holy Spirit and work towards it! Don't be lazy! We decided that we'll not be late for service and we all worked together to reach that goal.
  7. Don't complain when things are not convenient; show some strength of character and bear up under anything and everything because you are love like God is love! 1 Corinthians 13:7 (AMP)

Psalms 127:4-5
4 As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.
5 Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.

Matthew 18:1-6
1 At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?
2 And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them,
3 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
5 And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me.
6 But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.

I had an amazing weekend...thanks Kids for making it so awesome for me. I'm happy, our quiver (our home) was full of them this weekend; we will not be ashamed!

CHANCE OR NOT

Ludo is quite an interesting game for me. I like it because I can think through and be strategic about my moves before making them and I can quickly recover from an opponent’s hard hit and make a comeback. Some say it’s a game of chance that can only be decided by a throw of the dice but then again, life hands us things sometimes that we must make the best out of. So this is my story… I was playing ludo with someone recently and the winner would be decided after five rounds of the game, so I cracked my knuckles, rolled up my sleeves, mentally psyched myself and thought “easy peasy, she can’t even stand my skills; I GAT THIS!!” So we started to play and yours truly was waving her bragging rights high in the sky like a banner for an upcoming election. The game was going in my favour… omo* I was on fire! Move after move, I frustrated all her efforts with my well thought out moves, my skills and years of experience playing the game. The score was now 4:1 and I was on my

NO INDEPENDENT THOUGHT

Are there are times when you start to think about your life, about how far you have come but not really making a head way, who you started your journey with and how far they have gone and how you have not gone that far? Am I that much of an olodo (dunce)? Every interview they will say they will get back to me but I'll never hear from them again, how will i get the experience? Is it not when i actually work? Abeg I don tire to dey try and even when I decided to follow my heart and I started doing my craft, it was as if they have banned the purchase of my products. PERFECT IMPERFECTIONS

There they are, sitting bright and sunny perched delicately, waiting to be unwrapped to reveal the creamy yummy goodness that is so sweet and decadent, smoothe and cool to the touch. Yes; ripe and ready to eat bananas are fancy like that. Lol, perfect! right?! But what would you say about overripe bananas? Sitting at the back of the kitchen counter top or even closed away at the back of a kitchen cupboard; forgotten or on purpose left to grow and mature. It starts getting brighter but after a while dark brown spots and black patches begin to appear on them as they stay longer. They look off and unappealing, dark and unattractive but guess what they are still very PERFECT, discoloration and even time makes them perfect for the yummiest banana bread loafs and cakes like those from @sweetstuffkitchen. Okay okay, enough musings about bananas... FAM, don't wait to be perfect! your IMPERFECTIONS are what makes you unique, different and I dare say, PERFECT. Do not deprive humanity of your
