Hi everyone, it is so amazing to be writing and actually
posting on the blog…finally! It’s a dream I’ve had and carried in my heart for
such a long time and I’m so glad that it’s finally here.
Sometime in 2009 was the first time I thought of writing a
blog but I wasn’t sure what it’ll be about and I got carried away with other
things and a day job and the idea of a blog was taken off the stove and put in
the freezer to cool. Then smack in 2014 I started to nurse the idea again after
a prophecy was given in church and by the spirit of God we were asked to follow
our hearts and write the songs, poems etc and generally yield to the promptings
of our heart. It made sense for me to write!
My early teenage years met me as some sort of a tomboy…lol
with the baggy shorts and trousers, ‘rap mode’ tins, hanging out with guys and sharing
with them my love for cars their specs and prices….weird right? Even though it
didn’t last for long, it left a mark in me; I didn’t have many girlfriends –
just a few that didn’t have drama or so I thought, I generally wasn’t a ‘girly
girl’ and I was cool like that…lol!
So…here I am a few years later and I’m writing a blog called
churchgirlzrock.blogspot.com because over the years I have come to see girls in
a different light, I finally understood that what I casually called ‘girl
drama’ was indeed the uniqueness of being a girl. Girls are different in many
ways and some people use the word ‘complicated’ to describe us but I’d rather
say UNIQUE!
The best part of being a lady with all the ‘drama’ that
comes with it is when you have someone to walk you through life, teaching,
guiding, chastising and loving you all at once and all through life. It helps
and somehow makes life easy when you have someone that knows you and really
truly understands you…that’s what #churchgirlzrock is about. We’ll hear from
ladies and some men how their deliberate love walk has changed them and how its
helping them change their world…their stories, meditations, testimonies and
more will be published and posted on the blog for your inspiration, edification
and comfort.
